Member-Supported Scholarships for Fieldwork Participation

This March, Â鶹ֱ²¥ invites you to be part of March Fellowship Madness and help us raise $6,000 to fund an additional three membership-supported scholarships in 2026 (see disclaimer below).

Â鶹ֱ²¥’s Member-Supported Scholarships are funded by contributions from our members. Many of these gifts are made during March Fellowship Madness, and other members make contributions (ranging from $10 to $2,000) throughout the year. Whenever the gifts are made, Â鶹ֱ²¥ segregates these donations into a special fund reserved for scholarships for fieldwork that support our student and early-career members. Applicants should be participating in any Â鶹ֱ²¥-affiliated project. Scholarship support for 2026 will be $2,000 per scholarship; the number of scholarships is dependent on the amount contributed by our members.

Some of the named grants are designated for particular excavations (e.g., Hazor or Tell el-Hesi), for particular groups (e.g., BIPOC and veterans), and for particular countries (e.g., Israel or Jordan). Disclaimer: If archaeological excavations are significantly disrupted or canceled in 2026, Â鶹ֱ²¥ may, at its sole discretion, decide not to offer fieldwork scholarships. Fieldwork scholarships cannot be deferred; applicants may reapply either for fieldwork funding in 2027 or for non-fieldwork summer stipends if Â鶹ֱ²¥ offers such stipends in 2026.
