2026 CAROLYN MIDKIFF STRANGE COMMITTEE ON GROWTH, INNOVATION, AND VISIBILITY
The Carolyn Midkiff Strange Committee on Growth, Innovation, and Visibility (GIV)  serves as a resource for and leader in engaging and broadening the professional community of Â鶹ֱ²¥, in order to expand access to the  history and cultures served by Â鶹ֱ²¥. The GIV Committee makes  recommendations to Â鶹ֱ²¥â€™s President, Executive Director, Board,  Chairs Coordinating Council, standing and ad hoc committees, and staff. Our vision is to build and sustain a thriving professional field to ensure Â鶹ֱ²¥â€™s relevance in the 21st century and beyond.
The committee takes its name in honor of the incredible legacy of Carolyn Midkiff Strange, a long-term Â鶹ֱ²¥ member and trustee, who  is perhaps best described as a woman of action with a relentless desire to learn. Through financial benefaction, unwavering encouragement, and humble but clear leadership, Carolyn pushed Â鶹ֱ²¥ in new directions, envisioning an expansive future for the organization and for the field. Our committee honors Carolyn’s commitment to and vision for Â鶹ֱ²¥.
